Hi, I'm Danielle 👋
Dogs have been my whole world for as long as I can remember. Before I picked up the clippers, I spent years as a vet nurse, caring for pets when they were sick, scared or just not feeling themselves. It taught me how much patience, gentle hands and a calm voice can mean to a nervous dog.
Four years ago I started working at a grooming salon and fell in love with it. When my daughter started school, I decided it was time to open my own salon, and Peachy Pooches was born. Every groom is one-on-one, so your dog has my full attention from start to finish, with no rushing and no noisy salon full of barking dogs. My vet nursing background means I'm always keeping an eye on skin, ears, eyes and coat, and I'll let you know if anything looks like it needs a check-up.
I have two dogs of my own at home, Millie and Archie, so I know they're never 'just pets'. They're family. I'll care for yours exactly the way I'd want mine cared for: with kindness, patience and plenty of cuddles.

FAQ
Good questions, good dogs
How often should my dog be groomed?
It depends on the coat. Curly and long-coated breeds (like poodles, oodles, shih tzus and Maltese) usually do best with a groom every 4–8 weeks. Short-coated dogs may only need a bath, nail trim and de-shed every couple of months. Danielle is happy to recommend a routine for your dog.
My dog's coat is matted – can you help?
Yes. Mild tangles can often be brushed out, but heavy matting is painful to brush and is usually kinder to clip short so the coat can grow back healthy. Your dog's comfort always comes first, and we'll chat with you about the options before starting. Regular brushing at home between grooms helps prevent mats.
What happens at my dog's first visit?
We'll have a quick chat about your dog's coat, health, temperament and the look you're after. Then it's a calm, one-on-one groom with plenty of breaks and reassurance. For puppies and nervous dogs, a short, positive first session helps build confidence for future visits.
My dog gets anxious – is grooming still possible?
Absolutely. Because Danielle grooms one dog at a time, there's no busy salon noise or other dogs barking. She takes things at your dog's pace, and her vet nursing background means she's experienced with nervous and sensitive pets.
How should I prepare my dog for their groom?
Give them a toilet break and a short walk before you arrive, and let us know about any health conditions, sore spots, allergies or behaviour concerns when you book. Please make sure your dog is up to date with their vaccinations before their visit.
How much does a groom cost?
Prices depend on the service and your dog's weight – for example, a Short Hair Bath and Blow Dry starts from $60 and a Full Groom starts from $100 for dogs up to 10kg. All prices are starting from, and are subject to change depending on coat condition. See the full price list above.
Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
Yes. To keep every pooch safe and healthy, all dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations – this applies to both grooming and daycare. Please make sure your dog is up to date with their vaccinations before their visit.
What's your cancellation policy?
We know life happens! If you need to cancel or move your appointment, please let Danielle know as early as you can. Cancellations made with 24 hours' notice or less are charged 50% of the booking value, and no-shows are charged 100%.
